Automation & CTS

Control of buildings and processes - heating, ventilation, cooling, pumps and energy - and of machines in industry.

The problem

When the building or the process runs, but not well

Rooms are too warm or too cold, energy use is higher than it should be, alarms are ignored because there are too many, and nobody has a clear view of what the system is actually doing.

At a glance

Overview

We engineer, program and commission control systems for buildings and industry. Our work is development, programming, engineering and commissioning - not general installation.

We work on new installations and on existing systems that need to be modernised, integrated or brought under control.

Where it fits

Automation & CTS is where software meets the physical installation. It often connects to Connected Systems for remote monitoring and to Software & AI for data and optimisation.

Automation & CTS

What we build

  1. Building Automation

Control and monitoring of heating, ventilation, cooling and pumps.

  2. Industrial Automation

Control of machines and processes in production.

  3. Control Systems

PLC programs and control logic that behave predictably.

  4. Monitoring

Overview, alarms and history that people can act on.

  5. Energy

Energy management and measurement built into the control.

  6. Commissioning

Testing and handover of the system on site.

Systems

Typical system combinations

  1. Sensors
  2. CTS
  3. Data
  4. Control logic
  5. Monitoring
  6. Optimization
  1. PLC
  2. Modbus
  3. Building management system
  4. Alarms
  1. Energy meters
  2. Data collection
  3. Energy reports

Illustrative example

Honestly

Is it the right choice?

A good fit when

  • An installation needs new or better control
  • Several control systems must work together
  • Energy use or operation must be documented

Probably not the right choice when

  • The task is only physical installation
  • The fault is mechanical, not in the control
Technical view

We work with PLC programming and the common building and industrial protocols, and we integrate with existing equipment instead of replacing it when that is the better choice.

  • PLC
  • I/O
  • Modbus
  • BACnet
  • KNX
  • Building management systems
